Waste Management

Overview

With nearly 3 million m3 of capacity within 6 hours by barge from the heart of London, we use non-hazardous waste to create wildlife habitats and reclaim brown sites.

Our sites are dredging deposition sites and are principally used to deposit material removed from the Thames and Medway in order to maintain navigation and the continued use of the rivers. Non-dredged material is used for engineering purposes on our sites.

Access by barge reduces transport CO2 emissions by circa 85% in comparison to road access.

To ensure our sites are of maximum use to the local wildlife when they are completed, we consult with the RSPB and Natural England.
